About Mrs. Turner

Hello!  I am so excited to be teaching your child this year!!  We will have a great time celebrating our tropical theme: "Ride the READING Wave"

I have been teaching for thirty-two years.  This is my twenty-third year at the SLU Laboratory School.  I began my career teaching third and second grades.  The next eighteen years was spent as school librarian.  For the past seven years I have been teaching second grade. 

My passions are reading, family, travel, and the outdoors.  My husband is an educator in St. Tammany parish.  We share our home with my eighty-eight year old father and an eight year old golden retriever.  We have two grandsons in Santa Barbara, CA.

My great-nephew (and Godson) Clint is very important to us.  He is with most weekends.  He is eleven years old and lives in Madisonville.
